Filed with any request for temporary or permanent support orders and updated as financial circumstances change.
Definition
The FL-150 Income and Expense Declaration is a mandatory Judicial Council form that requires each party in a California family law matter to disclose their monthly gross and net income from all sources, monthly expenses, assets, and debts so the court can calculate child and spousal support under the statewide formula. The form must be current—meaning prepared within the past three months—whenever it is filed with the court in connection with any support request or modification. The paralegal gathers the client’s pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, and expense records, helps the client accurately complete each line, and calculates monthly averages for variable income or irregular expenses. An incomplete or inconsistent FL-150 undermines the client’s credibility with the court and can result in a support order that does not reflect their true financial circumstances.
